Curators of Exceptional Fabrics Since 1988

Prelle Collection

Founded in Lyon in 1752, Prelle is one of France’s oldest continuously operating silk manufacturers and a guardian of the nation’s textile heritage. Established in the heart of Lyon’s historic silk-weaving quarter, the house became renowned for its mastery of jacquards, brocades, lampas, and velvets, supplying fabrics to aristocratic interiors and major national monuments.

Prelle has contributed to the restoration of some of France’s most important landmarks, including the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre, and the Opéra Garnier, faithfully reproducing historic textiles using traditional methods and original looms. Awarded the French state label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company), Prelle remains family-owned and continues to weave its fabrics in Lyon, uniting centuries-old knowledge with contemporary creativity.
