Foresti was founded in Rome in 1964, at a time when Italian textile design was rediscovering the richness of its own past. The company began by collaborating with long-established mills in Tuscany, Lombardy and Veneto—regions whose weaving traditions stretch back to the Renaissance. Many of Foresti’s early collections drew on historic lampas, brocatelle and damask patterns found in Italian palaces and archives, translating them into fabrics suited for contemporary interiors.

Over the decades, this blend of historical reference and modern craftsmanship has become Foresti’s signature. Today, the house continues to create refined textiles that carry forward the character and artistry of Italy’s decorative heritage.
